Do you guys have one? We have the perfect spot for one but we don't want to spend the money on something like that.

The biggest part of the cost here can be the wells, and where we would like to put one the wells are already drilled and we can get enough water. But still a pivot costs up into the $100,000 range and we would rather buy some new shop equipment or a new tractor...

I got my field disked Saturday, hopefully sometime this week I will get my Soil Test results back and know weather or not I have to lime it. I need to pick rocks in it one more time, then I can drag it and get my beans drilled in.

Naw, I still got a few weeks yet untill I can think about planting but its gonna take me a while to finish getting the ground mellowed out because the field sat empty for about 10 years. I plowed it last fall and the snow broke it up pretty good but im still gonna have to hit it with a culimulcher and a drag and see what it looks like from there.

They lie! You do loose it but you loose way more in not working the ground because it gets compacted. It needs to be loosened up for things to grow very well, a prime example is in the clay around Kingfisher and Enid Started corn today, all we really got done was getting the planter set. Had some problems with the air and such. Will have some pics up I took with my phone in the near future

Cool RF, can't wait to see them. 99% of the farmers here till the ground first, and that's about all they have gotten done so far. Haven't seen anyone planting yet.

How the heck do you get a good root system when the roots have to penetrate through concrete? Not to mention I love the smell of freshly moldboarded ground!

ok, i hafta ask, what exactly is Min till? I am familiar with what full till, and no-till are, but how exactly does one min-till? Please remember, while I am not a farmer, i have worked on farms, adn all we do around here is full till.
